If you want to quickly make a batch of cookies or bake a bread it is as easy as throwing all the ingredients in, preheating the oven and setting the kitchenaid mixer to the setting you wish and within minutes you will have a perfectly mixed up concoction.
TheĀ Kitchenaid KSM150PS model is very useful straight out of the box with the attachments that come with it. You have a wire whisk attachment for whipping eggs and other recipes that need air injected in them. There is a dough hook that can easily knead dough in minutes. Lastly there is a standard flat beater attachment that is very versatile for tasks like mixing batters all the way up to thicker ingredients like meatloaf. All you have to do when you want top use one of these 3 attachments is twist and slightly push up until it clicks in place.
The bowl is a durable stainless steel at a measurement of 5 quarts. It locks in securely to the mix masterĀ by twisting it as well which makes it easy to change out to move around without having to move around the whole mixer. The bowl is designed with an ergonomic contour so that it fits comfortably in your hand even if you have heavier mixtures in it.
One of the most effective features of the Kitchenaid KSM150PS compared to other standard electric mixers is the way it mixes ingredients together. The beating unit spins in a clockwise motion as the shaft spins in a counter clockwise motion giving it a unique pattern. This actually produces a motion that hits 67 different areas of the bowl making sure that your mixture is thoroughly mixed without having to move the bowl around to get different angles.
There are 10 different speeds you can set the mixer at so if you need a slower mixing action at first such as when you have powders like flour and powdered sugar you can have it slowly mix them in without them blowing out the sides. If you have a mixture that is very coarse and firm then the higher speed settings do the job perfectly.
As for cleaning the Kitchenaid KSM150PS, this is very simple with being able to twist unlock the bowl to bring over to the sink without having to move the whole unit. Also the included pouring shield that secures on the top of the bowl helps prevent any ingredients from splashing out of the bowl while you are mixing, helping keep your work space clean.
If you find you want to use the Kitchenaid mixer for other recipes beyond what the 3 included attachments can handle then you can purchase some great additional attachments. Two of the most popular ones are the food grinder and the pasta maker.
